Andy Juhl is an aquatic ecologist and oceanographer at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Andy is interested in basic and applied issues in coastal marine systems, estuaries, rivers and lakes. Much of his research has focused on studying the growth and physiology of planktonic microorganisms, such as algae, protist microzooplankton, invertebrate zooplankton and bacteria. Andy studies these things in his own backyard — the Hudson River — and as far afield as the Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic. Visit his website
